Going to business school is a lifelong investment that can send a student's career — and salary — to new heights. The degree is known for teaching the most in-demand skills in business management. Through its flagship ranking, "Best Business Schools and M.B.A. Programs," Fortune magazine hopes to help the next generation of leaders discover the best MBA program for their future. ÿÈÕ´óÈüÈë¿Ú's M.B.A. program, in the Franklin P. Perdue School of Business, is No. 30 on this year's list.

Many rainforests worldwide are getting cut down. But Costa Rica has a different narrative. The government pays landowners for every hectare of forest they protect or replenish. Giacomo Delgado, a researcher at ETH Zurich, is studying the program's impacts by putting microphones in different landscapes and analyzing the sounds they pick up. Land in the program was far more similar to healthy, old forests than other pastures. “It’s a strong signal that [the program] is working for biodiversity,” said Laura Villalobos, a Costa Rican economist at ÿÈÕ´óÈüÈë¿Ú.

Those who attended a recent concert at Frankfort, KY’s Grand Theatre weren’t there just to hear music. They were there for a history lesson. Dr. Everett McCorvey, director of the University of Kentucky Opera Theatre, founded the American Spiritual Ensemble in 1995 because he feared the music he grew up hearing in churches was in danger of extinction. Dr. John Wesley Wright, music professor at ÿÈÕ´óÈüÈë¿Ú, has been a member of the ensemble for the past 20 years. He agreed with McCorvey that spirituals were the “mother music” of America.

ÿÈÕ´óÈüÈë¿Ú’s Richard A. Henson School of Science and Technology has successfully earned provisional accreditation for its biochemistry & molecular biology program from the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB). SU’s program was lauded for its strengths in the categories of safety training, labs, internships, and research opportunities. ASBMB accreditation recognizes degree programs that maintain top-tier standards in biochemistry and molecular biology education while providing competitive advantages.
